About Amphitheater Unified School District
Amphitheater covers several distinct north-Tucson and Oro Valley communities inside one K–12 district. Most students begin at an elementary campus and later enter a middle- and high-school feeder area; Coronado and Wilson preserve a K–8 route on one site. Amphitheater, Canyon del Oro, and Ironwood Ridge anchor the three main comprehensive high-school communities.
A major elementary consolidation took effect for 2026–27. Copper Creek, Donaldson, Holaway, and Nash closed, and their students were assigned to designated welcoming schools. Some receiving assignments lead to another elementary campus, while others place children at Wilson K–8.
The district said the established middle- and high-school feeder patterns were expected to remain in place. Affected children may start 2026–27 at a new elementary campus while continuing toward the same secondary feeder area. The consolidation redraws the early-grade map without, at least initially, redesigning the district’s three main high-school communities.
