About Tuba City Unified School District #15
Tuba City Unified serves several Navajo Nation communities through three elementary campuses, but their upper-grade spans are not documented uniformly. Tuba City Elementary’s current principal letter describes kindergarten through fifth grade. The district attendance page includes grades 4–6 at Tsinaabaas Habitiin and Dzil Libei, while Dzil Libei’s own homepage says K–5. Sixth-grade placement at the satellite schools remains unresolved online.
Dzil Libei is also unavailable at the start of 2026–27 because of its water-pipeline project. A July 9 letter projects an October 2026 reopening. During the first quarter, families may temporarily enroll at Tuba City Elementary or remain connected to Tsinaabaas Habitiin through alternative accommodations that require parent transportation to Hidden Springs.
Tuba City Junior High serves grades 7–8. Tuba City High and Nizhoni Accelerated Academy provide the comprehensive and flexible/credit-recovery high-school settings, while Native Language and Culture programs span the district.
